This is an independent community project: no investors, no ads, and no paid placements. I want finding something to do here to feel easy.

For a region with two universities, dozens of music venues, a thriving arts scene, and a tight-knit community, the Palouse has historically been hard to navigate. Event information was scattered across a chamber site, a city calendar, a few venue pages, and Facebook events you only saw if the algorithm felt like it.
I built The Palouse Calendar to bring those listings together in one place — automatically, every day, for free. Whether you've lived here thirty years or just moved in for school last week, you should be able to open one tab and see what's happening tonight.
How it works
- We automatically gather events from local venues, the University of Idaho, WSU, the local chambers, libraries, community centers, and dozens of other sources every day.
- An AI assistant cleans up the descriptions, fills in missing details, and suggests what's worth knowing about. A human reviews edge cases.
- You can browse by city, category, or date. Save events you care about. Get a free email digest. Share to friends.
- If your event isn't here, you can submit it directly for review. Add your email if you’d like an update when it’s published.

- How do you get the events?
- Automated scrapers pull from local venue sites, municipal calendars, libraries, community centers, U of I, WSU, and dozens more — running every day. Anything anyone can submit by hand also lands the same way.
- Is it actually free? What's the catch?
- Free. No ads, no paid placements, no email selling, no investor pressure to monetize. If that changes someday the site will say so loudly.
- How do I add my event?
- Use the submit form. Submissions are reviewed before publication. Include your email if you’d like a follow-up.
- Can I unsubscribe from the emails?
- Yes — every email has an unsubscribe link, and a preferences page where you can change frequency or pause. No retention dark patterns.
